The survey itself seems to be from last year and was in the news earlier in a less misogynistic light.

Of course in practice people probably would be less willing to marry for money. Probably mostly because people want physical attraction. That more women than men say they would wed for money might be partially explained by the fact that physical attractiveness helps career advancement (i.e., women picture rich men as decent-looking). To be crude, it seems unlikely that many women would be willing to marry, with the expectation of sex now and then, a Bill Gates lookalike who is only moderately rich.

Except that the majority of women seem to end up marrying--with the hope that there will be as little sex as possible--Bill Gates lookalikes who aren't even close to being "rich", moderately or otherwise....
