Really enjoy it - rare to see such stuff unscripted these days.

I think mine was the Apple II. We had several computers lying around the house since I was kid, because my father was in the computer biz. I wish I would have done a lot more than just playing games on those early computers though!

At first I thought you said Tallulah(Bankhead), which wouldn't necessarily be inappropriate.

And a cheers to you too.

Commodore C64 aka "the breadbox" with floppy drive 1541. Price at that time was more than my MacBook pro today.

When I saw you posted here, LK, I thought you'd be saying your first computer was something atavistically old like a gold abacus or ENIAC...

I had an Osbourne 286, 8 Mhz, 1 MB of RAM and a 20 MB hard disk. Started with dos 4.0, ended up with Dos 6.22. Played Prince of Persia, the commander keen series and a host of other games on it.

I prefer the Curta, which has an endearing mechanical decadence despite its Rolex-like price.

@Labelking

Yeah right ! but was that YOURS ?

my first one was a Sinclair ZX80 with an amazing amount of 1KB RAM !

i had to buy the 16KB expansion to run my basic programs, and it was as expensive as the main unit

Yup, that was mine as well. Had any number of external floppy drives, none of which were reliable. Computer probably had a bad parallel port, though at that time I doubt it was easily serviceable. My, how things have changed.

But my own first computer was a re-furb custom job from work. Well, I had company-issued desktops and laptops, but did not want a computer at home. I finally relented and took an old box from work, upgraded the innards, and called it mine. Done that a few times now.

The 64K Macintosh. Still have it, for nostalgia's sake.

Those are authentic Earth Shoes. In 1975, I was awarded the prestigious Anne Kalso award, for selling the most pairs of Earth Shoes in all of North Dakota!
