Maintaining white leather shoes...

Hi, I recently bought a pair of white leather shoes, and I am aware that white leather could turn yellow if not cared for properly. I certainly don't want that, so how do I take care of it to maintain its whiteness? Perhaps I am wrong, but it is made of patent leather and this makes it more difficult, doesn't it, to do the regular maintenance, especially if it is white? Thanks, WJTW

If it is patent leather, it has a plastic coating on it that requires nearly no maintenance. Wiping down with a damp cloth, possibly some Windex-type cleaner, or Pledge (?) have all been recommended for patent leather, at least the black kind. For other types of white leather, there is different care depending on the type/finish of the leather, e.g. buckskin, suede, smooth calfskin, "golf shoe leather" (whatever that is), etc.

So, patent white leather wouldn't turn yellow, and only cleaning is required? That's great, if it is the case. Thanks for your help. WJTW
