Looking to add a suede double monk to my rotation. Preferably in dark brown/chocolate.

Forum, please enlighten me with your collective knowledge. Pics appreciated.

Price point? If you're looking for $200 or less, the suede Mora was one of AE's nicer offerings. You might still turn one up on eBay or the like.

For "money is no object" suede double monks, I'd go for the JL Chapels in dark brown suede, as seen in: http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...57&postcount=1

Somewhere between AE and JL. Does C&J make a suede double monk? I didn't see anything on plal.

Yes, the Lowndes. Look at the bottom righthand corner of the picture from plal (or, hell, the top righthand picture that advertises the whole Monk section): http://www.plal.com/images/cj/2007-0...-38_edited.jpg Don't know if it comes in suede, though.

Don't know if it comes in suede, though.

iirc, only black and brown, not suede. unless you can find a shop that special ordered it, or special order it yourself (double the retail cost, i think).

Ron Rider from Romano Martegani can make just about anthing you want in suede or calf in any last and any style. The quality is excellent and the cost is around $500 these days. You can contact him through the forum - send a pm to RIDER.

Mantellassi (Lance was selling these a few months ago).

IMO double monks look funny, not as classic as single monks. Kinda in today, out tomorrow. Maybe for the under 25 crowd.

They have been around for long enough that they are classic imo and won't be "going out of style" any time soon, though not something you would wear for a conservative business environment or interview.
