Hi All,

Any experience or advice with this product. Ace Marks Shoes

The sizing guide on line is giving bizarre results - pegging me at a US 11/ UK 10.5 when I pretty consistently wear a US 10.5.

(I'll leave for a different thread the totally illogical full size/half size dilemma in the US to UK conversion.)

For simplest comparison, I wear a UK 9.5 in Carmina Rain (and even Simpson because I don't mind the snug fit.)

I am a pretty consistent UK 9.5 in my British purchases (EG, G&G, Sargent etc) - snug but sizing up demands a tongue pad to get an acceptable fit and the shoes still feel a bit big.)

If any have purchased Ace Marks shoes, advice and evaluation would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you bought some? IMO they are a ridiculously over-hyped con trick. Thin, lightweight leather, blake stitched, made in Italy...in other words cheaply made shoes which are not built to last. A Goodyear welted made in England shoe is much better value because if you care for it correctly it will last for life. Italian stuff is really only intended to look good for one season. Ace Marks are shoes for people who don't know about shoes. The blurb makes me want to puke: "the highest quality product at a market disruptive price." Give me a break.

This is what I thought when I first saw their adds. Also promoted by various personalities on YouTube, so the conmen clearly pay very well. They boast that their shoes are ‘worth $600,’ but charge around $350. However, they have a crowdfunding scheme where they ask for $200 and you get a pair of these ‘$600’ shoes. I wouldn’t mind, but the people who run this outfit don’t even look trustworthy. A pair of Jordan Belfort types out of New York city.

Italian stuff is really only intended to look good for one season.

You may or may not be right about this particular brand but there are many quality Italian products which are second to none in terms of quality and durability.

I own these ones: https://www.acemarks.com/mens-shoes...toe-oxford-shoes/cap-toe-oxford-siena-antique

In fact, these were the first quality shoes I bought, and a question related to care of them was my first post on this forum.

From back in the day:

1295150

I received them around end August 2018 and immediately started wearing them, was wearing them pretty often up until end October that year, then in January for one month on a business trip to India, then starting from March until October this year. I was criticized on this forum for the excess of love for the walnut shoe, but I just can't help myself, this is my go-to pair and I wear them a lot - they have not lost anything in over a year of wearing, so I can't subscribe to the 'one season' comment above. The leather is indeed thin, and the shoes light, but this, in my opinion, makes them ideal for the warm season. They are very elegant, or at least they look so on my feet - perhaps this is a kind of personal match. I particularly like the leather turn-in on the cap. The only drawback is that they are not water resistant - they get soaked through if caught in proper rain, not sure if it's a general feat of the leather sole, or of this particular shoe. I have finally come around to acquiring a pair of black oxfords, and I bought Yanko with a hybrid sole and what feels like sturdier leather specifically to wear during the cold/wet times. But if I decide to get another pair of black oxfords, I will without hesitation buy the same model from Ace Marks, but in black.
