Formal shade of blue

I'm buying a suit and, as I only occasionally were a suit, want to get one that is as versatile  as possible. I've decided to go with blue, but I find the really dark navy ones a little boring as they look almost blackish.

I've been checking out this blue Napoli from Suitsupply:

My question is if it's dark enough to work in more formal settings.

Thanks
J

How formal are you talking? It's a pretty dark shade of blue so for the most part, it should be fine.

Thanks for the answers. If you put it this way, on what occasions would you require a darker suit?

I think this is formal enough for any occasion that requires a suit.

I totally hear what you're saying about finding a warmer shade of blue - I've gone through the same process myself, as my complexion gets washed out massively by blacks and very dark blues (see attached picture ;) ).

Which leads to my point: If that's a particularly flattering color for you, no one will care about formality.
