bouquet garni: what do you prefer to put in

Have any special bouquet garnis that you use for some of your favorite dishes and would like to share with the rest of us?

For example, I like to add coriander seeds to the mix when making chicken or seafood stock. I like the little citrus notes.

Any other variants you use?

Mine is pretty standard, but sometimes when i'm using it for soups I'll add extra thyme. I love thyme.

Thyme, parsley, celery leaves all wrapped in the green part of a leak and tied. No bay leaf.

That's criminal! Is this for stocks or soups or what? Do you always put the same thing in your bouquet?

I don't like bay leaf, and yes, always the same although the amounts vary depending on how many herbs I cut from the garden.

If your wife really liked bay leaves, would that have stopped you from marrying her?

When I was in peru with my gf I was quite irritated (not visibly) that she refused to try new things. We were at some pretty nice restaurants and she insisted on stuffing herself with potatoes and rice dishes. They brough her a wonderful leg of lamb (i know it was wonderful because i ordered the same thing) at one place and she didn't even touch it. She also won't touch mushrooms. I think this is the end.

When I met my wife, she refused to eat what she termed "strange fowl". Now she lives for game meats and foie gras. People change. I still hate bay leaves.

I'm just being funny. It's got to end because I just don't feel strongly about her, not because of her dislike of mushrooms.

Funny! However, there is a difference in that this time I got sex. But you're right. I need to date a rich girl that will pay for my vacation. The girl i'm planning Africa with will cover her own half of the expenses but wouldn't it be nice if she would pay for me too!
