Brand new, never worn. Only selling as 2-pack. $50
Crafted from start to finish in Los Angeles, this piece will almost surely be the most comfortable t-shirt that you have ever owned. Using the classic loopwheel knitting technique, these shirts an incredibly soft hand and no side seams. They will absolutely blow you away in person! This particular model is a 100% pima cotton crewneck short sleeve v-neck in washed out vintage black. It maintains the usual Epaulet slim fit and corresponds nicely to our in-house shirting and jackets. Please note: due to the limitations of this knitting process (only three sizes of machines exist), these t-shirts can only be offered in Small, Medium, and Large
The EPLA Loopwheeled T-Shirt
Hailing back to the early 20th century, loopwheeled knitting is an intricate and time-intensive way to create a garment. Hanging from the ceiling, each loopwheel machine slowly creates a tube of jersey fabric to form the body of each tee. Rather than pushing and twisting the fabric through, the loopwheel knitter relies on simple gravity to slowly extend an endless tube of finished cloth. The end result is an exceptionally soft knit with no inbuilt stress or tension. As you wash and wear these shirts more, the tell-tale horizonal knitting lines (caused by the slow downward knitting of the fabric) will become more and more prominent.
Each machine rotates at 24 revolutions per minute and can knit enough for approximately 10 shirts per day. This is about one 12th the speed of a modern knitting machine, but you'll find that these unique shirts are well worth the wait. The cotton itself is Pima cotton "30's single" - a medium weight high-thread count yarn which is comfortable year round. It resists stretching and will provide the long wear and durability that you expect from an Epaulet garment.
This excellent cotton fabric is delivered in a "prepare for dye" neutral tone. The shirt is fully assembled at our factory and then sent to a dye house. There, the garment is dyed to match the pantone colors that we specify -- meaning that we can offer unique colors outside of the usual palette. Once dyed, the tee is run through a light enzyme wash to eliminate shrinkage, seal the color, and soften the hand even further.
Measurements & Sizing
Note: All measurements are shown in inches. "Chest" is measured from one seam under the armpit to the other. "Shoulder" is measured from one shoulder seam to the other, on the rear of the t-shirt. "Sleeve" is measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. "Length" is measured from the base of the collar (where it attaches to the shirt) to the bottom of the tail.
Pictured Fit: Model (6'1",175lb) wears size Medium. This garment fits true to size.
