Having a hard time deciding which size of the Herring Wilson to keep. I am a 9E in Allen Edmonds Dalton boot, prior to that I usually would buy 9.5D in most shoes. In Grensons I am 8(UK). In the Wilson Chelsea boots, my first impression was the 8.5F(UK) had a bit of room but was overall comfortable. I felt strongly enough that there could be a better fit that I ordered the 8F, and now I am trying to decide which to return.
In the 8.5F the excess room manifests in some twisting and buckling of the leather when I walk, but I feel like the boot bends in the proper place. There is also a bit more slippage, especially on the left foot which is the smaller foot.
The 8F is more snug but still comfortable, but I feel like I will be more prone to walking on my toes from the lost length. I think proportionally they look more "right" on my feet. There is still a solid inch in front of my toes.
I have heard Chelsea Boots should be on the tight side, after my heel sinks in and they are broken in, do you think the smaller size is more correct? I know we are probably only talking a difference of 4mm but I want to make sure i keep the right one.
