Any one has experience with Garment - Dyed oxfords ?

Ok personally I never tried a garment-dyed oxford but currently I need a black oxford shirt and unfortunately it is the only option I have now (besides the don't buy it and look for something else option .. which will be harder )

I've read about the garment-dying process and I am afraid it loses its color quickly after very few washes ( I will only wear it for dinners and special events so it won't be worn too much)

I would like any advice on how to deal with a garment-dyed oxford (Dry cleaning or Hand washing ?)
Shall I buy it or it will be a waste of money ?
Sharing your experience will be pretty much appreciated smile.gif

I have no experience with your topic, so I'll ask a meta-question: why do you need a black shirt?

I am building my wardrobe and surprisingly I don't have black shirt at all and I believe it will be a great addition .. paired with a black/grey blazer or a black/grey V sweater or just wearing it with black/grey chinos/dark blue jeans ... they all seem great dinner/date outfits to me ...and I love black shog[1].gif

Black is not a normal shirt color, and is generally not a good choice for many people, as it can make your skin tone appear washed out. Additionally, black isn't as versatile as you might imagine. It has problems pairing with browns and navy, and thus limits your wardrobe.

What color is your hair? Is your skin tone light or dark, with freckles or not? Shirt choices like soft blue are more traditional and help direct your date's attention toward your face. Plus it helps you not look like an undertaker or mobster. Which shirt colors do you like, other than black?

Of course just like many colours (except white which almost goes with everything ) it is not versatile but it it's easier to deal with than a navy shirt
I am Caucasian with light skin tone , dark black curly hair and might grow beard as well so I guess with black outfit I would look fine and no freckles
I love Blue but I am tired of it biggrin.gif I have a light blue oxford , striped blue shirt , striped blue poplin shirt , even a contrast collar blue oxford but I don't have any shirt of dark color .. surlrisingly at all (Navy Blue / Black / Grey ... etc )
I thought of a Navy shirt but I will have to either pair it with dark blue jeans ( And I would prefer chinos for a dinner/date) or Navy chinos which must be of the same shade (Which will be exhausting to find and I have tried pairing a navy pima polo with a navy chinos of different shade and they weren't really good together) or Grey chinos (Not bad)

Tired of blue shirts? White, as you mentioned, is a good alternative. How ballsy are you? Try a strong pink. Ecru may be another option. But, with a light skin tone, dark shirts (especially black) are NOT your friend.

Ecru? Anever though lf that before .. seems like a good idea though and suitable for a dinner / date
Actually I am having a striped pink knit oxford on my list (They ran out of it despite that it was 70 $ -on sale- ) I always thought of it as a "Summer-ish" colour but I think with navy chinos it will be great
I am rethinking about the daek shirts though :/
