@St Hubbins, I purchased the Humboldt to pair with my HM. I called my local SM and he tracked one down. Awesome belt, especially at the clearance price. Any nicks in the cxl just smoothes right out. Not sure if any are left, but could be worth having someone peek at inventory. Also you might consider buying one in a really big size and having a cobbler cut it down for you.

As others have suggested, Guarded Goods is another option.

Anyone else have a line on a belt that's a good match for the brown Higgins Mill and not ridiculously expensive? Thanks!

I intentionally try to avoid exactly matching the color of my dress belts to shoes (except for black). For casual wear even more so.

I have the Island Ave belt. It's on clearance right now for $49 and there's a few sizes left. I think it's a nice match for pretty much any medium brown casual shoe or belt, and it looks great with jeans.

Quote: I kinda shoot the middle. I don't always have to have an exact match, but I try to get things in the same tone-zone. I do have nearly-exact matching belts for my choco tankers and my jingle bell mocs, but for the rest is just the right neighborhood.

Former USA Swimming Ref/Starter here.
You wouldn't dare wear anything like those down on the deck...
Good luck to your daughter.

Last week I had the Fullertons on and it turned out that it was a tiny 25m pool where the seating was deck level. Soles got a little wet as I made my way to my seat.:brick:

Had to visit a customer in Asheville, NC today. Beautiful drive through snow covered mountains, a rare scene for NC.

Anyway, wore my merlot Hopkinsons for the first time in a while. They are like slippers.

Hey, it's Mr Off-Topic Guy... back again after a hiatus. I'm (probably quite foolishly) now interested in acquiring a tweed sport coat. I'm blaming the cold weather or maybe just my self-diagnosed mildish OCD. For those of you that own them, it seems like I might run the risk of getting myself into another apparel addiction. Is it as dangerous as I fear it might be?

Since I've got this crippling shoe habit, I was probably just going to patrol eBay until something comes along that I'd feel semi-comfortable taking a risk on. Are there any reliable sellers of such items that can be recommended? Any pitfalls or tips that I should be aware of? I've yet to make a foray into purchasing second-hand clothing on eBay.

Some people have a well chosen tweed jacket that they wear all the time. I'm jealous of them. I have 8 tweed jackets, another 3 that should be tailored or (gasp!) sold and a couple tweed shirt jackets. I live in San Diego so this a total indulgence. Tweed is far more practical where you live but I warn you, it can be a gateway drug. Whether you buy one tweed or several, you'll soon realize that it's a beautiful canvas meant to be accessorized. This will lead to explorations of silk and linen pocket squares, grenadine ties, moleskin pants, Viyella shirts and much more besides. You might want to start freelancing on the side before doing down this path :D

The brown casual belt I've been wearing with the HMs is nearing the end of its service life. The stitching that holds the buckle on is beginning to fail. Might be repairable, but the leather is also looking a little shabby.

So, I've been trying to search for a brown CXL belt. Found a couple of interest.

From Orvis: http://www.orvis.com/p/orvis-heritage-leather-belt/2c7c

However, this belt has an annoying Orvis logo on the keeper which is pretty much a deal breaker.

From DTC: http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/product/vintage-leather-work-belt-50858.aspx

Looks decent. Says Horween (or Seidel) leather and gets good reviews.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! I can get one made for you in either Horween Brown or Natural Chromexcel Shoulder (around 8 - 9 oz) with whatever hardware you want. I have a ton of nice Japanese hardware on hand. Just shoot me an email or PM and we can sort it out!

Suede Dundees are on clearance! Now the question - bitter chocolate or snuff? Loden is all but sold out. Does the poron make a difference with the suede?
