It might not have been a euphemism before, but it sure is now.

"Chocolate suede MD chukkas? Those make me want to go wash the donkey"

If it were possible to provide one hundred million upvotes, good sir, you woulda just earned em.

LMAO.

What do you think I'm trying to do? I'd say nine since March 2016 ain't too shabby. But I'm working on it. I'm working on it.

I think I got my bourbon daltons (first pair of AEs) around late April/early May last year. I now have.....14? 15? Don't recall offhand, would have to count 'em when I get home. :D

What to reach for when it's early January... yet highs will be near 80... and peeps like @orange fury keep posting MD chukka pics? Unlined Amoks, of course. These need a bath, especially near the tops where I have some raw denim bleed, but I think subconsciously I am just waiting to buy a replacement AE x MD version.

From someone whose AE collection blew up rather quickly, and now needs reminders to reach for certain shoes:

"Don't rush to get grown, drive slow, homie"

While not very weasel-esque, I think many of the veterans on this thread, especially those who have moved on to 'other' threads, would agree that you should always keep in mind quality/functionality/versatility over quantity and immediate gratification. (I actually think you have done a great job in being thoughtful about your next purchases... so this is more of a PSA than anything directed at you.)

Yeah, just let them know your pleased with the aesthetics overall, but just want to make sure you can get a replacement if the heal falls off.  If that happened, I'm certain AE would take care of it, but its always good to develop a relationship as a customer with an SA/SM.

Thanks!

Question. With the snow and salt on the ground, how will CXL hold up? Not worried about the snow not much but I'm worried about the de icing chemicals on the ground.

My wife comes back tomorrow and is going to discover I've bought 3 shoes since she left 4 weeks ago. Maybe I'll hide the Easton and release it later...

Only three shoes? "yeah, when I dance I totally have two left feet."

Nice work. If there weren't so many gosh darned living creatures to keep fed and, in the case of the humans, clothed at my house on essentially my income, I'd probably be right there with you. But most of the time those living creatures are pretty endearing, so I don't mind it too much.

Quote: I'd make sure to wipe them off with a slightly damp cloth and brush them immediately after coming home for the day (just wipe 'em with something damp when you get wherever), but other than that they should be OK unless they're getting really wet. I'd avoid that unless you're really going for patina, in which case they'll be fine.

Pretty dry here now but still quite a bit of salt on the ground.

I haven't treated mine yet. Waiting for my Ventian shoe cream to come in.

Quote: LoL - I got these almost three and a half months ago, and they've gotten more wears and miles than anything I've got. Lately when I pull them down I think "I should condition these" but then I wipe/brush them and they look great. I'm going to leave them alone other than brushing and an occasional wipe/brush - CXL doesn't want much.

Yea wore mine a couple of times and as you can see in the pic they are starting to age nicely. I'm really liking CXL. Seems like I got a good pair.
