Kick scooter for commuting

I already have a bicycle but have been thinking of getting a kick scooter (e.g., a Razor scooter). This would not actually be for commuting in the traditional sense of going to work (my commute consists of getting out of my bed and walking to my desk), but I would use it to go to bars and restaurants in my area. Downtown is mostly downhill from my house, so I can coast down there on the scooter, get drunk and take a taxi back. I can't fit a bicycle into a taxi. Does anyone else use a kick scooter for transportation, and not just as a toy?

+1000.

Plus, what are you going to do if a bunch of five year olds want to race you? And their scooters are more tricked?

That sort of rules out the 'get drunk' part. I'd suggest not getting drunk and getting the Lambretta.

Mind you, I bet you could pull off the scooter affair, but seriously, you will have to suffer some abuse of various varieties.

It would be a bit amusing, like Mr. Bean amusing.

It'll be like all those photos you see of stylish Italian men on bicycles, except with a kick scooter.

There has never been a stylish Italian man on a kick scooter.

I would say yes to the kick scooter.

I think it would be more than awesome to speed around on a kick scooter in a suit and funky i.m.pei type glasses.

What would be even cooler would be if you had a bespoke leather holder for the kick scooter.....disguised as a briefcase!

do it!

and when you get to the bar/resteraunt what are you going to do with it? and what if you bring a girl home, and she then sees you pull out the scooter? if i saw a grown man, let alone a well dressed grown man on a scooter i would die laughing.

as one who does this 2 or 3 times a week (admittedly on a Vespa rather than a Lambretta) I can confirm that drink driving is completely safe
