Outbid on $200(ish) snuff suede blain toe boots with 2 seconds remaining. Sad day. If you are a member here, PM me if they don't fit!

Isn't that the worst! Ebay has broken a lot of hearts.

I have had pretty good success with Ebay auctions by contacting the seller, before any bids have been placed, and asking if he would take a fixed price. They then change their ad to a best offer and I make the offer we agreed to. But this can't be done once a bid has been submitted. Just food for thought.

Fortunately, my Ebay surfing today landed me some vintage Florsheim long wings made in the US in 1967. Looking forward to some cleanup touches and use. I find they are a touch smaller than the Barrie last. These are off topic, but perhaps some will appreciate them.

I need some advise on the barrie last. I'm an 8 Wide on the Brannock device. I tried on the Alden's Aberdeen last in 8.5D and it didn't fit me as well as I thought it would. The pictures are from EPNY's derby in the aberdeen last size 8.5D. Should I get an Alden barrie last in 8D or 8.5D?

Ok Collectors, what is the norm on the sizing of the Aberdeen last? I have a 12D and it seems a touch big in the heel but great in length. Is it up a width and down a half size or down a width and up half size?

I've found it TTS, but a little limiting on volume as I apparently have a high-ish instep. Is the heel sloppy? Gapped? Slipping?

i thrifted these world war one shell cordovan shin guards today.
i realize it's not alden related, but figured some may be interested.

i've watched enough antique road show to know not to mess with the patina. i just wiped them down with a dry t-shirt and plan to condition them soon.
solo is pointing out a couple of dents, noteworthy because these things are hard as a rock. pictured next to light cigar bals and 20+ year old faded #8 bals for color reference.

These are incredible. How do you know for sure they are shell?

They look like it. Maybe if an Alden Shop has a Black Friday deal you could wear these to protect your shins from a blood thirsty mob of Alden fans...

Well, if @MrDV can have show and tell in the Alden Thread, then so can I.

Here are some exotics that I kopped yesterday:

These are for educational purposes for our children.

2 Female Bearded Dragons. They are very colorful and exotic indeed.

Thanks.
