FS: Peal & Co. Dark Brown Monk Strap Boots - Size 9.5 U.S.

From Brooks Brothers is a rarely used pair of bench-made Peal & Co. walnut monk strap boots in 9 1/2 D. In a B & S thread from last year shoe called these boots "decadent" and bespoke-like. I must agree.

Unfortunately, these are not a perfect fit for me. My forefoot and heel fit great, but my instep area is just slightly high and wide so the boot is tight around this point.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 D and can wear a 9.5D AE Park Avenue.

I've worn these boots 3-4 times resulting in minor creases.

These boots retailed for $528. Full grain analine calfskin uppers. Genuine Goodyear welt construction. Hand prepared leather linings, insoles and soles. Made in England.

Included are the Peal shoe box, two dark blue Peal boot shoe bags, and a pair of cedar shoe trees.

These decadent boots are now SOLD shipped to U.S. Paypal or money order.

These look great but it sounds like my feet are a tad wider than yours (I can't wear D width PAs) so these would likely be tight for me too.

FWIW, I think the price is very fair for these shoes including shipping and trees.

Did you get these off ebay about a year ago? because i bought a pair of peal wholecuts around that time, with one boot bag and one shoe bag.

I think I have your boot bag

Are thes C&J's or Alfred Sargents? The heel nail pattern looks like C&J with smaller nails.

From what I've read about nail patterns here on SF, a single row of nails with a center nail indicates C&J.

And if you look at the next to last photo, the info inside the boot is handwritten and the "324" is an actual C&J last number.

Does anyone disagree?

Sorry, I meant Grenson instead of Alfred Sargent.

You're probably right about their true identity. C&J was my first guess as well. The reason I'm super curious is that I have a pair of "bench made" English-made Cole Haan collection wingtips that have the same heel. However, there is more writing on the inside, and it is all stamped/printed instead of being hand written. As such, I haven't been able to conclude who made the shoe. I'm guessing that they (mine) probably aren't C&J's, though the retail on them was supposedly $425, which is certainly in the ballpark.

Oh, and apologies for distracting from your sales thread.

I never realized the shoe bags were mismatched until I took these photos the other day. I was always distracted by the glistening gloss of the boots.

Having only one true boot bag is probably why these monk strap boots have not sold yet. So, I think reunifications of the matching bags are necessary.
