Yes, it can be resoled.  I think that the stitchdown method that Viberg uses is probably most analogous to the blake rapid construction.  Others are probably more analogous to simple blake stitching.

 

A worn down sole can be removed, and then the new sole glued and then stitched on.  Viberg does this for its own boots, and cobblers all across the PNW remake similarly stitched down boots for wildland firefighters en masse after fire season.

In a blue sky world, it'd be awesome if someone bid $7200 for 3 different shell boots(provided Viberg was game).

It's definitely a departure from the usual texture.  I would still pick marbled, personally, but my wife told me that she'd rather have a new mattress.  Maybe I'll make us a bed out of shoes.
