New Years Resolutions

Anybody make any resolutions this year?
I'm trying the classic stop smoking effort but it's not easy.

Not a NY's resolution, but I quit smoking 1 October, after 30+ years. Used Chantix. Pretty easy go of things. Good luck to you.

for body consciousness resolutions, i am determined to get down to my weight of my youth at around 170 lbs.
it'll be nice to have all the striations on my rib cage , torso, and abdomen ,and see my hip bones again.

im now able to jog 2-3 miles non-stop; a few months ago, i was unable to even run down the street without huffing and puffing and getting a liver cramp.

Congrats, and good luck for future success, to both of you.

Shoe, will you soon be dispensing advice on what constitutes the most decadent running shoe?

Thanks LD, honestly my only pair of running shoes is an old beat up pair of New Balance!

Thanx Dad.

If anyone here truly wants to stop smoking, the Chantix thing is the way to go. I had/have no desire to smoke. None.

Congrats DR and Shoe. Way to go!

One is to start paying attention to my appearance. I know fuck all about clothes and style etc so this seems like a good place in getting me to fulfil my new years resolution.

I bit the bullet on New Year's Eve and inscribed for a marathon on April 20 and I vowed to pull it through with all the bells and whistles: loose weight from 220 lbs down to my former distance running weight of below 200, eat healthier, cycle to work each day. This is going to be a challenging first quarter in 2008.

Stop weighing myself. You lose weight by eating less, not hopping on the scale.

Goal of getting the plache, lever and one arm pull this year. More of a goal than resolution since it's not really something I have to fix.

DR, good for you. I quit just over a year ago after 20 years. It was a lot easier than I imagined and I am feeling great!

^ Thanks. And yeah, I'm surprised how easy it really was.
