EDIT: Sorry, my non-jerk answer would be that I'm not totally sure. I'm going to take the afternoon off from work so I can get down there early and help. I would guess that people will start coming down after work (5-6ish) and keep trickling in from then on.

Ok, so judging by the sizing replies I've gotten so far it looks like we are right around the number of attendees we were hoping for and more!

Remember, there are prizes and contests going on all night and plenty of inventory available, even some "end of the night" stuff for the late comers! We want to avoid everyone showing up at once, Mauro said the store can only hold about 50 at a time.

Oh, and don't forget to make your designated driver arrangements. Lloyd Dobbler will not be at this party to give your drunk ass a ride home and my car is already reserved for a couple of Baltimore peeps.

Brett and Mauro, thanks for all your work organizing this. It sounds like it's gonna be a rager.

If someone got a wild hair and wanted to fly in, what is the closest airport? What kind of accomodations are nearby? Is there anything else cool to do around the same area?

reagan national is the closest airport and also puts you within metro access, which i suppose non-dc/va/md residents would call "the subway." there's a few hotels within the vicinity of the denim bar, which aren't too far from the district proper.

depending on the sorts of things you're into, the clarendon area has a decent assortment of nightlife, ranging from irish pubs like "ireland's four courts" to hipster hangouts like galaxy hut and iota, which doubles as a music venue.

in the district there's all sorts of stuff to do on the weekends, there's probably a few dance nights going on (albeit many of them can suck), and usually a house party or three in columbia heights.

and there's a pretty decent selection of late night eateries like ben's chili bowl, the diner, and one of the many "jumbo slice" pizza restaurants and all variations thereof.

Thanks, seriously - everyone going to the party, including myself, needs to find Mauro, shake his hand and say thank you! Looks like a rager indeed! you are only a few minutes from D.C. proper so there's a pretty wide range of options. The DC/VA guys can hopefully give some opinions :-)

Im probably 15 mins from the place via metro and I live off scott circle which has a Marriot, a Double Tree, the Beacon in it as well as the Helix, The Braxton and the Rouge literally right there... a lot of places to stay... also a block off the Hilton and loads of others...

dulles is a good 40 minutes away from arlington, reagan is still your best bet if you're flying in without a car.

Hey - question for you guys about nametags....

Nametags are a necessity so we're thinking of ways to make it fun. We're going to put a random number on each name tag for raffles so you've got to keep yours on all night if you want to win :-)

Anyway - my onto my question. We'll make sure that each name tag has enough room for your SF screen name and your real first name. That's a given BUT do you guys want me to pre-print name tags with your avatars on them? I'm talking about high-quality laser-printer copies on sticky-tags.

It seems most of us stick to the same avatar for a few months at a time so it might help people connect names to faces and recognize each other.

What do you think?

sure... if you want to go through all that work. ... that would be totally cool though. the problem with this damn party is, im gonna end up buying another pair of jeans eventho i totally dont need any.

Reagan National Airport is two metro stops away. I assume that the cheapest hotels will be just around the airport. There's nothing much going on in South Arlington, where Denim Bar is located, but the Penn Quarter area of DC is a short metro ride away and the U Street/Upper 14th Street scene a few stops after that.

Yeah, but you'll be buying them at 50% off so at least you'll be able to buy a higher quality jean that you would normally not even need
