Budgie fashion wise showed what happened after 'Suedehead' ?
I agree that it was influential, those jackets were everywhere.
I always thought that Top of the Pops was very manufactured, and the DJs a dodgy bunch in fact I first heard the expression 'Bum boys club' as a nickname for the BBC "during the 70s".
With regards to Old Spice it seemed a bit to old for me,in fact I remember listening to an older bloke ( than me then) bemoaning the fact that Old Spice wasnt as good as it had been, according to him you could put it on when you went out and it still smelt when you got home...mind you the pubs closed at 10.30 here then !
I read online today that Aramis is 50 years old now and has been sold continuosly since 1966.
During the 70's young men may have regarded Old Spice as a bit old fashioned but whilst wear it I felt I was so fisticated! In order to maintain a modern image, soon after Brut brought out their 'splash on' product, so did Old Spice - "Splash it on all over, 'Enry"
