Another "Which one to keep" question

I would like an autumn winter brown check sports jacket. Here are two options under consideration. One is a nearly new 3R2 by Cantarelli/Faconnable, the other a Reporter unstructured 'quick jacket ' in a gun club pattern. Which one gets the vote for style and fit?

The top one seems to be a better length and a better shoulder fit. The bottom one seems just a tad small.

Top one.

Top one. Is the waist/seat loose? If so I'd recommend taking it in as much as possible to give a better shape to the jacket.

It's not loose really. I think the low camera position doesn't help, but the shoulders are narrow so fit mine which are narrow too. Will tend to create this slightly bottom heavy profile I recognise. The lapels are slightly wide (3.75 inches) but perhaps this is more normal when 3r2 lapels are fully open.

Yeah I have the same problem... I've tried in vain to broaden my shoulders.

It does look like the hip is a little big. You can see some excess material at the bottom. Anything you can take in will help make it look lease pear-shaped.

Yes, there is some excess at the skirt, at the outer part of the vents. I have narrow hips so perhaps something can be trimmed down here, although heavy lunches reduce potential to suppress the waist.

Take it in anywhere it can comfortably be done in the lower half of the jacket. If that's just the hip, do it still.
