Henry Blake Watches - official affiliate thread

Hi Styleforum!

What a wonderful community and forum, we have read a lot of posts here and we are really exited to become an official affiliate.

I’m Reza the founder of Henry Blake, I startet the company back in 2015.
We are Norwegians based in Oslo the capital of Norway. Our goal with Henry Blake is to build a timepiece that stands out from from other watches in the marked.

Im also the founder of Norways biggest architecture and construction magazine. During my work I have talked to a lot of architects and I have always been fascinated of their ability to create well-designed products.

My idea was to create a watch that I could wear myself, and make it accessible for everyone else like me all over the globe. A lot of us have background from architecture and design, and we’re intrigued with products and buildings that don’t get affected by time passing. The Eames chairs that we have in our offices, for example was designed 60 years ago but is as stylish as ever. Stuff like this really inspires us.

We have looked to big and beautiful buildings, and thought about how we could scale this down to something you can wear around your wrist.

I think some of the keywords for Henry Blake watches are elegance and simplicity, without losing functionality. We wanted a watch that you can easily customise to suit your outfit and activities.

We have seen that there are so many new watch brands on the market and most of them have similar minimal design, we wanted to differentiate Henry Blake, but at the same time have a timeless and elegant design that stands out.

We really appreciate our fans, so when you get a Henry Blake you also get practical and pretty watch roll.

We believe in masterly craftsmanship, the finest materials and an everlasting design
The high quality leather and the stainless steel speak for themselves. But with the high level of attention to detail combined with the flawless materials like the sapphire crystal glass and Swiss Ronda 7 series movement we end up with a timeless timepiece of expert craftsmanship. This watch will never go out of fashion.

Your can find us @;

I really hope you like our watches and we love to hear your feedback and we welcome any questions you have :)

We will put the watches on Kickstarter, launching in beginning of November.
After the Kickstarter we will start our online store and retail sales.

thanks
//Reza S.

Hi

here are som more pictures of the watches, tell us what you think :)

The dial of Henry Blake is easy to read. The indexes and hands are topped off with strongluminescence, which is pleasing during the day and gives great visibility at night.

Everywatch features a 316L Stainless Steel case and buckle, and it’s up to you to decide whatcolours and combinations you want. Since the leather straps are so easy to replace, youcan have a variation of straps and mix it up how you like!

The watch looks nice, although I agree with the comment in the Poor Man's Watch thread that the company name is much too large and prominent on the dial. I'll stick around and keep an eye on your pieces, though.

Hi

Thanks for the feedback, we are going to make the logo smaller when we put in production for kickstarter and full production.

Hope you stick around flvinny521

Do any of your product photos show close-ups of the watches themselves?  The pics shown here are nice and artistic but don't give me much of an idea of the details and finishing of the watches.

Very nice, clean and legible dial. I agree that a smaller logo would be preferable. Thanks for the pics and best of luck.

Hi

We will put the products on Kickstarter, launching in early November.

Our products will be highly discounted for Kickstarter campaign and early birds get an even better deal. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter on our website and follow us on social media to be the first to know when we launch.

We have been and visited the factories we use and these factories produce for major luxury brands. We started by visiting over 20 different factories and ordered prototype of 5 of them. We ended up choosing the factory we have now because of their quality to details and how they treat their employees (this is really important for us, since we are Norwegian company).

We have contacted the factory again to create new prototypes with smaller logo.

Here are som more pictures, we hope you like our products

Hi

I want to tell our story, why I started Henry Blake and what has been my greatest inspiration

When I started Henry Blake in 2015, I had an idea to create a watch I could wear myself, and make it accessible to everyone else like me around the world.

It was a challenging task, since I am of the discerning type and wanted good craftsmanship and quality in every detail. I also wanted a design that stands out from the crowd and that is viable over time. Just like our office chairs from Eames, which has had the same design since 1960.

I've always had a great interest in design, interior and fashion.

When I think of good design, I think of product that not only looks good aesthetically but also fulfills its purpose. Producing minimalist design is the most complicated task for a designer.

My interest in design began with architectural design.

As founder of Norway's largest magazine for architectural and construction I had the pleasure to meet many talented architects, and I have always been fascinated by their ability to create solutions that stand out and works.

This is some of the covers of the magazine Fremtidens Byggenæring that i started back in 2007.

Interior design

Im very fond of interior and especially brands like Eames, USM Haller and Cassina. Sitting or looking at Eames chair or Cassina Corbusier you will notic the quality and craftsmanship.

This is from our office, Eames 108 and Eames table from Vitra

Astrup Fearnley Museum

I remember when I met the Italian architect Renzo Piano after he designed the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo, listning on him talking about design and architecture as well as the creation of something new.

Astrup Fearnley Museet / Renzo Piano

Such things fascinates me and has been the inspiration to start Henry Blake.

Rose gold and dark leather                                                        Silver and tan leather

That is what we feel we have achieved with Henry Blake. Several of our test subjects also believe the same thing! Just take a look here:

A Watch That Turns Heads

”Henry Blake is the perfect accessory: a smart, sharp look without being too flashy. It has already gotten a ton of comments from friends and strangers.”

Barbara, New York

Loving it

”Feels great on my wrist, with great design and materials. Perfect!”

Luis B., Madrid

Aside for its beauty and uniqueness of design, the watch has a great quality and exclusive materials. We have gathered all of these components into a watch and made it available to our fans at a starting price of 149 USD on Kickstarter.

Other brands might offer some of the same components offered below, but not all the features.

We have not cut back anywhere and that's what makes us unique:

  • Swiss Ronda 7 series movement
  • Sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating
  • 316L stainless steel case
  • Butterfly buckle (taking care of leather straps and looks good)
  • Premium Italian leather straps, I wanted the best straps that is possible to buy
  • Watch roll place to 3 watches (store your watches and take them with you)

On Kickstarter very soon.

We will put the products on Kickstarter, launching in early November. Our products will be highly discounted for the Kickstarter campaign and early birds get an even better deal. Make sure to follow us on social media to be the first to know when we launch.

We will put the watches on Kickstarter very soon.

The first pieces of Henry Blake will be limited edition pieces and individually numbered. In Norway we say "førstemann til mølla”, roughly translating to first backed, first served. This means that the earlier backers will get lower numbers.
