Levi's Shrink to Fit Jeans

Thread Starter
Hello,

I wonder if I could ask the styleforum for some advice? I just purchased a pair of deadstock Levi's 501 Shrink to Fit jeans - from the '80s, possibly '90s. I've never shrunk jeans before, and after some research I've discovered the method of soaking them in the bath and wearing them until dry. However, does this method only apply to modern Levi's? Might it be safer to follow the tradition method of wearing them in the bath, as the advertising of the '80s and '90s suggested I recall?

Advice would be much appreciated,

Regards

It can still be done that way.  It's mighty uncomfortable though.  Just be warned.
