Hasn't she already been acquitted multiple times?

Acquitted?  Not in the normal vernacular; you could use a less common definition and say that's true I suppose.

Meaning, Republicans have been searching for reasons to throw her in jail for years and so far haven't.

they hired an independent prosecutor who was not able to find any chargeable offenses.

yeah it was a bs throw away line
people of her calibre rarely end up in jail, even if Trump put someone to investigate her or form a senate committee after a half a year of shit flinging and bring up DNC dirt to the surface they would not jail her or anything

ImageHandler.ashx?im=SOS+pads.jpg or SES?  And if a SES sent or received classified information on their unclass account no one would give a shit.  It would get scrubbed and there would be no repercussions at all. Last time I checked a cabinet member outranked a SES officer

Sorry, in our country that 'throw away line' is kind of a big deal. Especially when it's not the first time he's said it.

Does he have the power to jail her on executive order or something? I don't think so.

It's just hysteria. Those same people probably believe Trump is going to declare himself a permanent dictator at the end of his term. I heard the same thing about Obama on gun forums for the last 8 years.

He explicitly said that he'd appoint a special prosecutor to bring charges against her. That's not a throwaway line. Using your political power to prosecute rivals is not something that's done in the United States.

We're not electing Trump dictator, so clearly his powers have limits. It's still discouraging to hear a Presidential candidate have such little respect for the legal process, especially from supposed party of the Constitution and the "rule of law".

Well, that's sort a dangerous statement to make in this particular situation. Some of us remember the Clintons getting unauthorized access to the FBI files on political opponents and beaurocrats appointed by previous administrations and all the rather conveniently timed IRS audits of opponents too. These instances again show the Clintons know how to use surrogates and how important that is in case things go bad. Travelgate led to the larger realization of these files being accessed and the usual Clinton M.O. was employed, i.e. just a SNAFU and then someone down the food chain resigns/falls on his sword.

The Clinton shenanigans are a big part of the reason why I voted for Obama over Clinton back in 2008. But I think it matters that it's A) alleged B) behind the scenes. Transparently using your power for political gain is a lot more corrosive than being subtle about it. The latter is obviously not a good thing, but that's the nature of our binary choice here. You put up with some stuff that you don't like because the other option is worse.

I'm completely resigned to the inevitable scandal once Clinton is elected. Something is going to happen. But it'll still be better than Trump.

I think it's funny how Obama's approval ratings keep going up throughout the election. People are like "Oh yeah, he wasn't really all that bad compared to this shit-show, was he?"
