Who's used one? Did it help? Inquiring minds (and sinuses) want to know....

I have used it, and it has been helpful. I still use it as I have sinus problems.

I've only used a makeshift one made out of a gatorade bottle because I was so sick of having stuffed up sinuses. I used warm water with a tiny bit of salt and I went from having a plugged nose to being able to breathe clearly out of both nostrils. In my one expirience my nose got plugged back up soon after, but it was worth it for the temproary relief. Its definately a strange feeling.

It has helped both my wife and me. It is a gentler version of what I used to do which is put salt in warm water in a mug and snort it up my nose, usually in the shower. I don't have completely clear sinuses but it is better than not using it.

My fiance has had sinus issues (surgery twice) and swears by it. Her doctors also recommend it.

I use a ceramic neti pot specially when my nasal passages are clogged. Use a little bit of sea salt, and lukewarm water. If you have any further questions on how to use it, please don't hesitate to PM.

They are wonderful and I swear by them. Jala Neti and Sutra Neti are the reason I don't have to get surgery on my nose for deviated septum. 1 teaspoon of salt in 2 cups water as close to body temperature as possible is key.

Very happy with mine

I've used Ocean and generic versions of it. Anyone used both? How do they compare?

The Simply Saline product does a great job and is a lot less-fussy to deal with.

I use mine about twice a week. Looks like a little ceramic tea pot. Definitely improves my breathing, especially for sleep. It's also great for relieving cold symptoms. I can't honestly say that it shortens the duration of colds, but it certainly feels like it does.

If your problem persists despite using the Neti, you might consider a more forceful method of nasal irrigation. I have one friend who squirts saltwater up her nose with an instrument that looks like a tiny turkey baster, and I've got another who irrigates with a special nozzle that attaches to (and I'm not making this up) his Water Pick.

I've never used a true Neti pot, but I do use the aforementioned Simply Saline from time to time when I have a cold or have been using a bit more nasal snuff than usual. It can function as either a spray or as an irrigation tool, and I find that congestion is greatly helped by the latter method.

You can actually get miniature versions of this for use with babies.
When my daughter was only a few weeks old, she caught a cold from her older (two year old) brother. Her nose was so blocked she had great difficulty in breastfeeding. The chemist recommended a product that included a little squirter bottle and some saline solution.

My daughter didn't appreciate the process, but she seemed pleased with the results and it certainly made feeding easier. I was so impressed by it that I might try something similar when I next have a cold.
