All in all, the most troubling part for me was the chest to waist cut. I'm 49 inches in the chest, but only 38-39 inches in the waist.

The cut they gave me made it seem I was 49 inches all the way down. My remake is being made with more of a taper, supposedly. I'm expecting them in 1 week or so.

I'm hopeful, but I'm not expecting them to fit like true bespoke suit. In my mind, if it can replace OTR purchases (which are not an option for me), I'll be happy.

I think this thread has taken a different direction, but I just received my jacket remake, and am pretty happy with the results, fit wise. The waist suppression looks more natural, and the jacket fits nice and trim. I had an inch taken in in the chest, an inch let out in the stomach, reduced the wrist measurement by .5 inch, and the sleeves shortened .5 inch. As far as the fit of a $240 suit goes, it fits my difficult body really well without the need for any additional tailoring. That's saying a lot for a 42S/32 with an athletic build.

However, I am NOT happy about only the jacket being remade. The linen is clearly similar but different. The jacket is actually made from linen that seems to be nicer, and less coarse. There is a subtle difference, but it is noticeable. I am going to have to contact customer service again and see what they say.

willnyc, first of all cool that it turned out well for you! Now, what you said about the remade jacket being different material is very interesting. We know that part of the reason why they have so low prices, is that they use basically rests of fabric that is only enough for a couple of suits. I guess in your case they just got a new shipment, but the fabric was a bit different. That COULD (and I say could, not does) explain the fact that the charcoal suit material we have been discussing before differs from what is advertised on the website. Indeed if that is the reason, they seriously need to work on their quality controls...

I have to take some passport pictures of myself anyway, so I'll set up and take pictures of both the original and remade jacket, and an Isaia MTM jacket an order of magnitude more expensive for comparison. Indochino may have its share of problems, but I think the shoulder fit is being unfairly maligned. Mine came out pretty well.

Ok so...

It seems like you get a fused, reasonably fitting cheap suit with suspect fabric for around $300?

I think I'd rather get a quality fabric RTW suit on sale and have it altered. But I don't have difficulty finding suits that generally fit and I don't need too many suits.

I think there is a place for cheap kick around suits to wear with sneakers on the beach, etc. I think I stated earlier that Indochino isn't where I would get my nicer suits. But paying for a MTM cotton or linen suit to the tune of $1000-$3000 just doesn't sit well with me, even if the cost of wool ones don't bother me. And my body definitely doesn't allow for RTW. The pictures don't really show the subtlety of the differences as much as I had hoped. In any case, I think even in the pictures you can clearly see the fabric is different betweens the two jackets. The first is the original. My traps bulge in this jacket for some reason. The second is the remake. The sleeves seem to have photographed shorter than they are, but you can tell the length is much improved from the first version. The sleeves are also trimmer, and the jacket doesn't pinch at the waist to form as ridiculous a V as the first (that oddly isn't conveying in the pictures either). The black jacket is from my Isaia MTM tuxedo. I've gained about ten lbs. since I had it made, and it shows in the traps. You'll just have to take my word that it fit like a dream for my wedding. The shorts aren't doing anything to help the look, either, since they are rather baggy. I probably should have put the pants on, since they fit well, but I am lazy. Oh well. If nothing else, I hope people get a sense of the shoulder fit. Some of the pictures posted on here make me question how these people were measuring.

Many members on another forum I frequent purchases items from them and are happy with their purchases. If I were in the market for a suit, I'd give them a shot.

Or maybe their manufacturing is just inconsistent. Case in point: the difference between your two jackets around the shoulder area. You didn't change anything about shoulder, neck, etc, did you?

Did you want the linen jacket to be shorter than the Tux? What color is the lining, it looks to be dark, or is the linen very thin?

I just received my first suit from Indochino. I'm actually quite pleased with the overall fit. The pants need to be lengthened just a bit as to the jacket sleeves, but those are minor alterations. One thing that does concern me is the shoulders. First, there seems to be a good amount of padding which i'm not a fan of. second, the corners seem to bunch up slightly. none of my other suits do this. just wondering what the experts here think. (I apologize upfront for the iphone pics)
