Indochino suits? - Page 202

So my first Indochino suit arrived and I really don't know what I should be looking for to fix.  It definitely fits nicer than my off the rack suits... I think i might want the sleeves a bit longer.  Can you guys help give some feedback?

PS. Whatever looks like white fluff on the pants is from the camera.

Thanks!

Got my tux, a little trousers a little tight around thighs, and a little long. Excessive material in the back aswell. Anything else?

I was hoping i'd be able to see the submitted measurements in comparison to the garment. Is there anyway to obtain these now?

What do you mean? The measurements that are on your profile are the only measurements that you'll be able to get.

I orderd a suit February 3rd. It was supposed to be shipped this week. I contacted customer service. They told me that there was a production issue. It won't be shipped until the end of this month. I can't have a clean transaction with this company.

The Spring Break holiday, which includes the lunar new year celebrations, always plays havoc with our production and delivery schedules. I can only imagine what it does for a company the size of Indochino. Then to make it even worse the break was a little longer this time than in past years. So as much as it's frustrating you may need to cut them a little slack at this time of year.

To top it off we had an exceptionally busy January and February in terms of sales so the tailors came back from their break to a larger than normal backlog of orders. This has led to one or two minor (but annoying) mistakes such as the wrong type of pockets being made and other little quality control errors that are normally picked up at other times. All of which take time to correct (which of course we will).  So make sure you give the suit a good once over when it arrives to make sure it's what you ordered.

I really dislike that wide stripe on the trousers. Is this what you asked for?

Normally the trouser outseam is just piped with satin. Something LIKE THIS

I'm actually sending the picture to our tailors to make sure we're not doing this as well

Yeah, not to my liking either, did not ask for it.  Does however not bother me all that much, fit is more important, and it seems like i need a new pair of trousers anyways, so I can ask for a narrower band.

Really? The sleeves and the pants length are what you noticed? The button stance isn't bad, but look at how tight the waist is? You've got an X-Men symbol in the middle of your torso. The hips of the pants are too tight. The chest looks too small too. I don't like the way that the double-lapel 3-piece suit looks either. I'd probably stick to either the jacket alone or the vest alone, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback and of course you're right - I'm just in that awkward situation of cutting for summer (I need the suit for June) and I was trying to anticipate how much weight would come off my (and where). I've asked for another 1.25" to be added to the chest for the remake though.

So I got my suit yesterday and took some quick pics at night. It really needs to be pressed.
Overall i'm pleased considering i haven't owned many suits in the past, and all were OTR.

Seems like the sleeves are a little too short, especially on the right arm. Is it normal to have this difference? I've noticed it in a few other posters images too. Maybe my arms are different lengths or the shirt is the issue.
I quickly put on the jacket this morning with another shirt, and while it's much more even, the right arm still shows more cuff.
Note that my shirts are not tailored.

To my untrained eye it seems fine besides the sleeves....but that's the reason for this post.

Now regarding a remake, i'm in a awkward situation where I need the suit from End of March to April 10th. Would it still be possible to get one, assuming I need it?

The above are from my Nokia Lumia 920, and I swear the quality in lowish light is superior to my Digicam.

They'd already added a few weeks to the usual delivery time, but they shipped my items today. Now, there's another problem; it looks like they mixed up some of my measurements and applied the adjustments to the wrong places (for instance, +.5in to the shoulders instead of the sleeves). The alteration credit won't fix that...looks like I may be out of $$$ for shipping it back to them. I had an uneasy feeling about ordering from them again anyway. Now I know.

It's definitely the time of year. Surprisingly I have had very few fit issues. It's just little mistakes that are more annoying than anything. While these things occasionally happen I've had a number in suits made just before or just after the Spring break. Another yesterday where the customer ordered working cuffs and the suit was shipped with standard cuffs despite the request being on the order form twice.

While we will remake the jackets under our no worries guarantee it's annoying for the customer who is rightfully upset that he didn't get exactly what he ordered first time and frustrating for me knowing that these little silly errors would have normally be picked up in the quality control process had they not been rushing to get the suits out. Unfortunately when people try to do things in a hurry that's when errors creep in

So you might need to cut Indochino a tiny bit of slack at this time of year.

I received a suit today after a six week wait and I don't know how they got it so wrong.  The measurements I provided are based on an Indochino suit that I already own and fits great but this new suit is nowhere near what I entered(3+ inches off in places).  It was as if they were reading the measurements from someone else or just didn't believe my own.  Ah well...off for a remake.  Hopefully it can be chalked up to the busy lunar new year.

to add my story - I had two orders going simultaneously, but was having trouble nailing down a good fit.  So I placed order #1 on hold to see how order #2's fit would turn out before re-ordering/remaking.  I finally have a decent fit with order #2, but they've denied my remake on order #1 when I tried to apply for a remake to match #2.  Granted, it was going to be my 3rd or 4th remake on order #1 (I was having a lot of issues with fit, both their fault and mine imo)...I expected them to understand the situation and be willing to make an exception.

No matter how much I asked for a final remake and re-told the story to them, they still denied me.  So much for perfect fit promise.  I'm now out of luck on order #1's fit.  I'm never ordering from them again..chalking this experience up to a lesson I had to learn the hard way.

Vinny - Sorry that you're having trouble again.  I know you've had a bad first experience and that you're actually giving them another shot.  Hope it turns out better for you at least.

Ah ok. I just wanted to see how much they modified my original measurements (i know it has to be increased slightly).

Also, I got my suit 2 days ago and posted a few pics but it hasn't shown up because its not approved yet or something.
How much leeway do they give on the sleeves for alteration? Mine seem just under an inch too short....i think.

If you were basing your measurements on an Indochino suit, then why did you change the measurements? Did I read that the wrong way?

Look inside of the wrist. You should be able to see how much material is left. The problem is that if you lengthen the sleeves, your cuff buttons will be further away from the sleeve opening. Most people won't notice, but it's something to think about.
