Thanks. It's partially my own fault; I wait till last minute to order it.

Not that I know, I know sometimes people post it in here, if I see another one come up I will.

Here is my .02.  Your first one will need to be remade.....look at it as part of the process.  My first one came out better than any suit off the rack would be, even after tailoring.  My remake is in process and should slim it down to where I want it.

Was looking to order a navy suit off indochino. The purpose of the suit will mainly be for business settings (interviews, presentations, networking events, etc). From the pictures, I really like the look of the blue sharkskin. However, do you guys think the hue is dark enough to be worn in formal settings? I understand that typically the darker the better, but I'm not a big fan of the navy's that are so dark its almost black. I like the hue of the sharkskin that indochino has but not sure of the formality.

Here are pics of the blue sharkskin

I had the same decision to make a few weeks ago and went with the essential navy as I thought it would be more versatile for a variety of occasions including the more formal stuff.. However, it is very dark, and if your concern is that you want a lighter and more visible navy hue then go with the sharkskin.

Is it ridiculous to think any these navy blazers from the suits could be used as a sportcoat w/ chinos?

I have no experience with Indochino, but wanted to pass this along to you guys. smile.gif

Unfortunately the shirt is probably meh and the tie will probably suck.

If it was 40% off just the suit, this wouldn't be a bad deal (especially if you get lucky on the indochino lottery)

even so $320 is less than the normal price of their 2pc suit. i'm strongly thinking about pulling the trigger for a navy 3pc. had amazing luck with my first suit from them.

I kind of had the same question. Is the blue sharkskin formal enough for an office setting? And will it work for interviews? Also can you just use the jacket as a blazer? I was thinking of the navy suit but the blue sharkskin suit looks nice.

But it is not as good as other deals that have come up in the past right?

I figure the value in the shirt and tie is incredibly low (I doubt people actually buy them very often...and probably even less repeat customers) so this is a way for them to throw in $10 bucks of extra stuff and make a $80 discount look like a "almost" half off.

Kind of sad I missed the chicago event. I saw some pictures and a writeup linked to from Put This On and I might have actually been willing to order an Indochino suit to try it out. In person measurements + trying on samples would have meant a high likelihood of a good fit.

Now I am considering trying MTM in the form of a suitsupply suit now that they are open in Chicago.

This sale is identical to the sale that was offered in July through Chicago Google Offers.

I may very well pounce on it.  $320 for a custom tux with a tux shirt (and a bowtie that is probably crap but oh well).  Hard to beat that value, to be honest.  Even the cheapest tux somewhere like Macy's would be ~$300, and that's not counting a tuxedo shirt and all the trimmings.

Interesting that 2 Canadian founders don't sell in Canada. go figure.

Anywho...here is a picture at long last of my first (of 2) IC suits, the one I bought in I think July 2010. The jacket had no further alterations. I had the pants hemmed (I requested unhemmed) and slimmed a bit below the thigh.
