Question about this 100% alpaca Jos. A. Bank sweater

I would like to know your general opinion on the quality of this garment vs say Polo or other brands.
Judging by the tag, when was this made, 90's or early 2000's?
This sweater feels very nice but it is the first time I've felt alpaca. It is certainly a heavier woven garment and super soft.

Hard (impossible really) to judge quality from a few pictures. I've it feels nice and you like it, sounds like the quality will work for you.
