So I'm stuck in New Balance, as my shoe is a 10.5 6E.
If a shoe 'runs wide' I can't get my foot in past the hole
If a shoe comes in a 'wide' version it doesn't fit at all; I feel like a foot-binding victim.
If I buy a shoe in a 'wide' I have to go up 2.5 sizes, and it's still tight, with about an extra 1.5 inches in the toe box.
The only shoes that fit are New Balance trainers (and only if they come in a 6E), Red Wing Boots in an H width, and certain Dunham oxfords (by New Balance).
I want to wear awesome, stylish shoes. I love the retro-classic puma suedes. I'd love to wear some good ole chucks. Some spiffy dress shoes would be nice.... but there's nothing.
I assumed that there would have to be a few companies that make casual street shoes, totally custom - but nobody does. Sure, there are some hideous orthopedic footware you can get, or custom cowboy boots. Some of the ortho companies make a casual style or two, but they are hideous dated monstrosities -- I'm better off with the New Balance.
I want to up my shoe style. What do I do?
