You're worrying me now, Phil. Â For my corporate picture I was wearing a 2-button Oxxford in charcoal grey (fabric had some visual texture thanks to a mixture of charcoal and dark grey threads), center vent. Â About 3 inches of waist suppression (so, not "boxy"). Â Very pale blue spread color 1/2" herringbone weave, olive green Hickey Freeman tie, and dark brown Alden shoes. Am that too conformist?
As a DC resident, I see the Ugly Lawyer Uniform on a daily basis. Â It has the following three qualities: 1. Suit sleeves too long. 2. Plain white shirt. Â Often a button-down collar. 3. Ugly shoes. Â Either a black, rubber-soled, square-toed oxford or, even worse, a black, low-vamp, kiltie tassel loafer. Â Corrected grain, of course. It sounds like you are okay.
