Shopping in Italy (Florence, Venice, Rome, Pisa) - where can the best bang for buck be had?

Hi SF,

I'm your typical couple of years into working post graduation looking for the best places to top up my wardrobe while in Italy without killing the bank. What are your favourite places for good value at a decent price point for:

Neck ties - up to around £60

Leather goods (shoes- around the £300 mark probably, belt, wallet and gloves)

So far I have found the following so would like some comments on them if possible, there are a few other threads but many of the shops stores don't indicate the price points!

Scuola del Cuoio (Leather goods)

Pusateri (Gloves)
Madova (Gloves)

I am currently in Venice and will be in and around the rest of them in the coming week and a bit.

if you're still in Venice I can suggest to do a trip on this place: "Riviera del Brenta".

Basically, it's a street, plenty of the major manufacturers of shoes are there.
Most of them work for top brands, but have also their internal outlet where you can find their shoes.

Remaining in Venice, you can look at Famengo Luciano, address: Ca' dei Sarti in Noale (VE).
He is a master tailor and you can find exquisite sartorial suits.

Near Padua, in Via Trieste, 3 in Cadoghene, look for Roberto Sarti, another master tailor specialized in custom-made shirts.

In Florence it's very easy to find craftsmen that do leather gloves.
Just walk on the historic streets of the downtown. There are plenty of small and characteristics leather shops and ateliers.

For ties Boggi is a good choice, unfortunately they don't do sartorial items but you can easily find their shops around the major cities (Padua, Venice, FLorence, Rome, ...)


For the belts ... I'm the guy ;-)
