Hi,

I noticed the seller's item location is Vancouver Canada, but seller is based out of New Zealand (per profile) and has sold other items in the past from an item location of Singapore. Which is odd to me? The picture looks good though so wanted opinions.

Appreciate any feedback on whether the item appears real or fake.

Regards,
Mark

Dude has lots of the same item for sale and recent negative feedback from an established account saying fake. I wouldn't do it.

Thank you both for the quick replies. That sucks! I guess if you are going to go eBay, stick with the trusted well established sellers. Those tags look good in the picks.

Easy maxim; if you have doubts in is more than likely a fake.

He never said they were authentic. IMO People should stop brand whoring and look for quality not tags.

oops, we are talking about two different listings.

the first listing, the green sweater, looks as legit as any Kiton product I've handled and the seller seems to have sold a lot of Kiton items. The second listing is obviously fake.

Ask the seller for a pic of the fabric tag.

No reputable seller will put new authentic Kiton on auction with no reserve. That alone is a red flag. He wouldn't risk losing a $1000 sweater for $150

that you are 100% incorrect about. I won't get into the psychology of buyers when looking at a buy it now versus an auction (there have been many studies done that show the no reserve auction will almost always get you more money) but you can find many examples of no reserve auctions of high end items and the seller did not pay $1000 for the sweater, Yoox is selling Kiton sweaters for $200-300, which means they got them for $50-100 (or less). If you find a source, you can find past season items such as this for pennies on the dollar.

Thanks Ed, I just asked the seller for a picture. Will post if I get one.

Appreciate the feedback but looking just at pictures is not always easy to determine quality (for me anyways). I am also no expert in the area even if I had the sweater in my hand. I would not consider myself a brand whore. I do stick to buying brands that have received positive reviews on Styleforum. I should say, I have been introduced to brands on Styleforurm that after purchasing will continue to do so because I like the quality and fit of the products. My brands of choice are D'Avenza for sport coats, Panta for pants and Barba or Vincenzo di Ruggerio for shirts. Not exactly what I would call household names outside of Styleforum like Hugo Boss or Armani but that is only my opinion.
Regards,
Mark
