Hi

I just took a last second punt on ebay for a pair of wholecut shoes.

These are totally unbranded - does anybody know what sort they are?

Thanks

Well if they are I may have got the bargain of the century!

The seller is based in Northampton, and seems to list lots of 'unbranded' goodyear welted shoes that were intended as 'samples', along with a few lesser known brands like Berwick and Tiger of Sweden

Well I haven't been able to find them online anywhere - I thought the sole might be distinctive enough, but no luck :(

My experience "in the industry" is limited and what I have is in the fashion/clothing aspect rather than footwear but no reason to assume that its vastly different in nature.

It could be purely unbranded, certainly in clothing there are number of manufacturers that dont/no longer sell any own brand products but not only do they produce to others designs but create their own designs as samples to try and sell to one of their customer brands and/or simply illustrate the art of the possible. When the Mrs worked in the textile design industry the design studio would periodically clear out their catalogue of whats not been sold, the designs themselves were sold in bulk to an agency in China and/or India and the larger printed/ made up garment inhouse samples were given away to the staff
