For Sale:
Alden Black Shell Plain Toe Boot 8D 379X

Will Ship To: USA

SOLD.

Gents,

I am selling a pair of Alden Black shell cordovan plain toe boots, style #45067, size 8D on the 379X last. I am selling to clear out some room in my closet. They are in very good condition, having only been worn four times, and are factory irregulars due to the black calf sections on the rear upper heel area. Please see the photos.

Generally you will want to take the same size in the 379X last as you do in Barrie or Modified. 379X is somewhere between Modified and Barrie, with a broad toe, but narrower waist and heel for good support. I wear 8D Barrie/Trubalance, 8.5D Aberdeen/Hampton/Grant/Plaza, and these fit me very well in 8D. For more information on 379X, see this sizing article: http://www.styleforum.net/a/alden-shoes-sizing-guide-379x-last

The Alden original box (pictured) and shoe bags are included, but shoe trees are not included.

$375 including shipping. I ship to the USA only. No returns.

Please PM with any questions - thank you!

Did you ever find out if the black calf patching was normal with these boots or just placed on there to cover up a blemish?

The patches are definitely why these are seconds, and are not present on the normal 45067 model (I asked Alden). I imagine there's some sort of flaw hidden beneath, likely a crack in the shell.

Thank you.  I was curious because I ordered a pair of these from TSM in 8.5D a couple of days ago.  I had never heard of the 379x last before and read that they are similar in sizing to the Barrie last.   They looked pretty cool and seem a bit different so I took a chance.  I generally prefer the 360 welt but like the extra stitching on the rear sides compared to the regular Plain Toe Boots that don't have any.

Was it just the patching on the back that led you to sell yours or just the overall look and/or feel?

I am selling because I have too many shoes. They're great boots and I'd keep them if I had more room in my shoe closet.
