Isaia suit fit

Hi everyone,

Thinking of getting this Isaia suit at discount. US$1,600. Wool/silk navy subtle herringbone which I really like. Fit to me seems good. But I would like to ask opinions on the creasing at the biceps. Could be a result of Isaia's high armholes?









Any comments about any part of the fit are welcomes.

I'm not an expert like @Despos , but it looks like the angle of the arm scye is off for you. If don't think that this is easily fixed, and so you might want to pass on the suit.

May I ask whether the arm scye being off is causing the excessive creasing at the inner side of the sleeve?

Yes. One of the things that I find is hardest to get right in RTW clothing is the angle at which your arm naturallly sits. the cloth wants to sit "forward". but your arm wants to fall "back". The result is that the fabric will never sit properly.

LA Guy, thank you for the advice. It's something new I learnt and I'll apply it whenever I try on a suit. My initial intuition told me that the sleeve doesn't sit right. Good that you've independently confirmed it.

I do like Isaia cuts though. They recently have this Musa cut. I'm giving it some thought.

Was that a Musa? It's editorially cool, but the shoulders are very square and the jacket has a slightly erect posture for most people, which might be why the armhole is fighting you, or vice versa. You might be better fit in a 5 body or the new 7.

That is not a Musa. The Isaia on the photo is from Lane Crawford. I believe it is the Gregory model. Pretty must a standard cut, light shoulders, soft fabric. If the arm scye was right, I would have bought it. Now looking at the pictures, and taking your advice, I've decided to pass on it. Thank you for saving me cash.

I tried a Musa model at the Isaia boutique. On sale but more expensive at US$1,900. Wider lapels, a strong blue color, wool / silk, herringbone. It's also nice. More fashionable but still keeping their sartorial roots. I'm thinking of trying it again taking note of the sleeve using what I've learnt here.

Difficult to take photos of me wearing the Musa at it's at the actual Isaia boutique. I guess I can't say to the sales person "I value the internet's advice more than yours so do you mind if I snap a photo of myself so they can assess the fit of your suits". Lol.
