Tie bar, suspenders, lapel pin, pocket square....

I'm sure this has been asked before but....

Headed to a wedding this weekend and I'm wearing a charcoal two piece suit. I've picked up black suspenders with silver clips and a navy polka dot tie. When is wear the tie and suspenders with a tie bar it seems like a lot of horizontal silver is on show.

Also wearing a red or white pocket square.

Suggestions? Should I replace the tie bar with a lapel pin or just do without entirely? Or is it fine to have a tie bar and suspender class be a bit matchy....?

Appreciate any feedback.

Personally I am not generally a fan of tie bars as its very rare that I am outside without a jacket or sat outside in a suit and tie when it'd be appropriate/needed. Little need for one inside or when outside with a buttoned up jacket. I dont hate the look though.

Take it your trousers dont have the buttons to attach the braces/suspenders properly?

The three horizontal elements dont look so bad to me, esp as the braces ones will be covered by your jacket most the time, but never like the chrome clips/ empty belt loops that just show you've the wrong trousers.

Thanks for the reply!

I actually had the buttons added to the pants so I won't be using the clips on the day.

Replace the tie bar with a lapel pin. Everything else is fine.
