You are mistaken. Just because I didn't say anything doesn't mean I didn't notice. It is called a Thomas heel. It is also used on Alden's orthopedic line with a version on the Modified last and a more pronounced version used on the Trubalance last (or maybe Truflare or maybe both). One of the purposes is to provide added arch support for flat feet, but it may also help with pronation.
