I've been browsing posts on here for a while now (I have y'all to thank for introducing me to my favorite online menswear vendors!) but thought I'd make an account since I've got a question for y'all about going up a collar size in dress shirts.
I usually wear a 15" collar for dress shirts, slim fit. I'm in need of a couple new dress shirts and have found a shirt online that I like that's a 15.5" collar size - but it's extra-slim fit and all body measurements (other than the collar and maybe sleeves) fit my measurements. Would it be a terrible idea to go up in size or is it fine? (FYI I have access to a tailor and am not planning on wearing the shirt with a tie).
Basically, I guess I'm just curious how much of a difference .5" in the collar makes, if I'm not going to be buttoning the top button anyways.
Thanks for your help and sorry if my question seems obvious/dumb to y'all - I'm not super experienced in how this works!
