We fought a whole war over this type of shit, and we fucking won.

It's "soccer" because that's what makes sense in the places where the term is used, and it makes sense to not add ambiguity to language.

It's "soccer" b/c that's what the English told us to call it: a"socc"iation football.
That's also true. They called it that because there was another type of football, as well.

Again, removing ambiguity is a good thing.

And it's football, not "hand egg," because it's played on foot and not on horseback.

The real question is three downs a field or four?

Boris Johnson won't be the guy to pull the trigger.

Boris Johnson is a Chris Farley skit that escaped in the real world.

There still is another football, genius. It's called rugby football. American football is derivative of that sport, hence why you call it football.

If you wanted to reduce ambiguity, I would recommend using the term as it is used globally in about 100 different countries, rather than as it is in your little corner of the world.

Just too many options here. I'll leave this one for Harold.

Rugby football is the kind of football I was referencing with my post (which was a direct elaboration on double00's post about the English calling it "soccer"), genius.

You referred to it in the past tense. I suppose English is a foreign language for you guys, so I'm happy to cut you some slack.
