Need advice on a suit for my wedding. Managed to pick up a canali suit in my size for a good price at the Mrporter sale. Ideally i wanted a navy blue suit but this seemed too good to miss or is it? I can return for free if SF thinks I can do better, since i'm not wowed by the fit

Sleeves are a bit short, though every suit ive tried on so far has been too. Non functional buttons so guessing it can be let down a bit (but there is the fake buttonhole stitched into the fabric)? Could also take it in at the waist im guessing?

It's not bad, but it could be better. You're getting a roll across your upper back from what looks like your drop shoulder. The back of the sleeves are also a bit messy and that is not something that is easily fixed.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the cut/look....it's just a bit blah. I'd say if you have time, send it back and try out some other stuff.

Hi there, I can see why you brought the suit in the first place its not too bad at the front,
Do you have access to a good alteration tailor?
from the pictures I would say you need a little drape taken out of the back and a slight clearing of the armhole but only at the back (not from the front)
I would also take in the waist to give you more definition around your waist but not too much because if I'm honest i would like to let it out slightly over the seat to compensate but its quite a big job so don't worry too much about it.
You can lengthen the sleeves roughly 1/2 an inch on a canal you can insert a piece of lining on the inside of the sleeve a good tailor can do this if not theres roughly 3/8ths to be let out the normal way.
i would put some shoes on and work out the trouser length as well especially the shoes you will be wearing on the day and it should be all right.

hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback.

Would a MTM suit avoid those issues?

I would say the sleeves are near perfect length. You should have at lease half an inch of the shirt cuff on show. It is a common misconception that if the shirt cuff is on show that the suit sleeve is too short.

The trousers seem the biggest issue to me, in that they are too long. Make sure on that note that you are wearing your trousers higher than you would jeans they should sit just atop of the hip bone and just under the navel.
