Suggestions for Tan Loafers

I'm looking for suggestions for something a bit more updated than a traditional preppy style. The Aldens and Crockett & Jones are nice but this look I've worn before.

After looking around I came across these at Paul Stuart: Higher vamp, a bit more sleek, nice color.

Any additional suggestions on a tan leather loafer will be appreciated.

Bontoni Principe on the far left is my choice.

That Bontoni is very nice. I need a custom fit for Bontoni and that takes several months. Was hoping to get something off the shelf. But the finish on this one is inlove.gif

How about Gaziano&Girling?

The other one I like is the Corthay Brighton, and it is what I would choose if I was made to forgo my leathers and boots, and had to dress like Hugh Hefner on a workday.

^ I'm not keen on the band with the twist across the top. Reminds me of cheap, lounge lizard loafers. Not ready to add that to my look. The rest of the shoe has a nice look though.

Have you considered the Duke loafer by EG? A much more refined penny loafer. They just brought it out this summer and I've bought a pair for myself.

I love the Monaco by G&G and the Scafora loafer.

One of these will replace my Vass loafers in the future.

I find this shoe very versatile for wearing it with denim and any kind of light odd trousers.

Gus I like these from Sid Mashburn. It seems two degrees removed from Alden, but of course that's subjective.

Very nice!

Not sure if available RTW here in the US from a retailer. Will do some digging.

I looked at these online. I really like the finish but there is something about them that isn't grabbing me. As you say close to Alden. The more I see the more a slightly sleeker look appeals to me than the Alden.

I'm surprised how hard it is to find good loafers in tan leather. Never imagined it would be so limited. Lots of dark brown and even black but tan...not so much.

Mr. Porter carries it. It's a more rounded toe shape than the Piccadilly. Haven't tried it, but it looks nice.

Hmmmmm....Mr Porter doesn't seem to carry any EG loafers in half sizes.

Agree on the appeal of something sleek although I personally needed to balance that shape with a more casual material and structure so I picked up these from Christian Kimber..Certainly not tan though.

That's too bad. Looks like Leffot and Sid Mashburn also carry it (although not in tan). If Leffot's policy is the same as it was years ago, they only take returns in exchange for store credit. Mashburn gives full refunds, but you have to pay for return shipping.

EG also has a bunch of other great models -- some lined, some unlined. Their catalog is now up on their site, although sometimes it doesn't include everything.
