Sartoria in Napoli ?

Going to naples tomorrow - know of any good tailors who also do trunkshows in London ? Know that Nsm does it - both in stockholm and London, which is pretty  close, as I'm from Copenhagen. But anyone else you guys can recommend ? And unfortunately, I'm not eager to pay more than around 2500-3000 € for a suit. And the trunk show part is relevant, as trips to Naples would take around 7 hours by plane from copenhagen (no direct flights), so would be a real hassle to travel for fittings.

And does anyone know where Cerrato the pants maker can be reached in naples, address would be appreciated? I've previously read @marcodalondra mention him.

Does it have to be Neapolitan, or would you be interested in English outfits like Steed, which might be around your price range?

Both Solito and Caliendo visit London regularly.

Have a look at Simon's archive. http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/category/neapolitan-tailors

I would prefer Neapolitan.

Anybody know the price range of Solito and Caliendo ?

And no help on Cerrato ? :)

Caliendo 2.100 euros for a jacket and 2.500 for a suit, both prices including fabric and prices if you go to Napoli beacuse trunkshows prices are higher.

I visited him and like vey much what I saw.

I'll visit Caliendo tomorrow and check the place out. this is the place right http://www.sartoriacaliendo.com/ ? And visit nsm, as there prices seems fair - and been reading a lot about them on sf.

And never heard of steed before - I'll look into the firm a bit more as well.

Caliendo seems more reliable than Solito and their finishing is better (quoting S. Crompton), but also more expensive.

NSM has a different approach to tailoring, as Mina, who is taking the measurements is not a tailor but a fitter (same as Mariano Rubinacci).

Steed is a Row tailor, not neapolitan, Cleav was joking. :p

I did not think Steed was on Savile Row. Does he now have a shop there?

smile.gif Not joking really, just offering an alternative, and closer to home, alternative. Just something to think about. That is all. smile.gif

Steed shares a space with Chittleborough & Morgan. I really like their work, but they're not going to give the OP a Neapolitan suit.

Solito is probably the best bet. Caliendo's price point is well above his budget.

So, survived the Napoli traffic. Funny place to drive a car - absolutely no rules - just avoid hitting the other cars and pedestrians and don't ever really touch your brake too much :D

So, as dieworkwear correctly has stated - Caliendo was well above my price range ! He quoted me 3.100 Euro for a jacket - and 3.600 € for a suit. He wasn't at his "store" (more an apartment), so I only got to chat with him on the phone.

I tried dropping by nsm- but no one was there. Still a bit unsure what to think of nsm - it seems some people love it, and other are a bit skeptical. But their prices are great - and think I'll give them a go some day ! Even though Mina might be or not be a Tailor. Aren't experienced enough to know how much of a difference, if any, that makes ?

But for now, I've put in an order for a sportsjacket with Solito. Price - 2100 € with fabric. So first fitting is in July - due to my schedule not allowing for a trip to London at the end of this month. With regards to the jacket my only two requirements were - 1. I chose the fabric - 2. tell them to do things exactly according to their house style.

And while in london, I'll check out steed and see what thats all about.

And thanks to everybody who shared their opinion and recommendation - much appreciated.

If you drop by to see Steed, send them an email first. Their main location is in Carlisle and they're only in London on certain days. You'll want to make sure they're at 12 Savile Row before dropping by.

You can see examples of their work on Voxsartoria's blog (one of their clients).

Caliendo prices seem to have increased a lot lately. What a bad news :(
