I just saw the movie, "Seabiscut", which is every bit as good as the rave reviews claim. The movie takes place during the 1930s when, it seems, men always dressed in style--vests galore, pocket squares, fedora hats etc... Men, poor and wealthy, always wore a suit and tie--even to a horse race. (It reminded me of pictures of baseball parks during the same era.) The '30s was a time when people dressed up to go out. There are lots of little details in the clothing worn by the men of this picture that are worth seeing. Have we lost a sense of fashion and flair that our grandparents had?
