OFFICIAL Obama Nostalgia Thread

This thread is for nothing but love for Obama. I've already been informed we'll miss him when he's gone and read the raves about his mic drop the other night. "Obama out!"

Please wax nostalgic about the Obama presidency here.

Dave Letterman had something like this for Clinton. I think it was around the mid 2000s, but he spent a few weeks having a short segment in each show where he would recycle an old Bill Clinton blowjob joke that he used over 10 years ago. The audience never got tired of it.

Anyway, Obama has been kind of lame. He continued a lot of the things Bush was criticized for. Despite Obamacare being one of larger accomplishments of his administration, I was never passionate about it one way or the other since I'm young, healthy, and fit as a fiddle. I think when he was elected a lot of people, myself included, gave a lot of thought to how having the first black president would affect race relations for our country. At the time I thought/hoped it would be an example no one could ignore of how there really is no system in place to keep black people from accomplishing anything they want to accomplish. Obama seemed like a good fit because he never sold himself as "the black candidate." Boy, was I wrong! Race relations are much worse today than when he first entered office. I could not believe his statement about Trayvon Martin saying if he had a son it would look like Trayvon, calling for further investigation, then completely shutting up once further investigation made Trayvon look more and more like the aggressor. What an asshole.

He did save the auto industry, and at least the economy got better since the 2008 crash.

The worst parts of his presidency might not even be realized yet. Who knows what trouble the Iran deal will lead to? Who knows how much better the ISIS situation would be if he had a stronger response sooner? How many decades will libya be a lawless hell hole now? GWB's presidency just looks worse and worse as time goes on. I think Obama's legacy will be much the same. I don't think history will be kind to him. To what extent we can't say just yet.

Also I'm going to call it now. Obama will do something very dramatic at the tail end of his presidency when he will pardon people. He was very late in his presidency to give much attention to reforming the criminal justice system. I'm expecting him to pardon a lot of people who were put in for non-violent drug charges. Just wait.

Obama saved the auto industry. Ahhh, nostalgia is already setting in as no one remembers Bush gave them almost $18 billion in TARP to bridge GM and Chrysler through to give the Obama administration some breathing room and that Ford did not need saving. The point is GM and Chrysler would have gone under if not for Bush so I would say the two of them saved GM and Chrysler.

Greatest Dog Whistle of our time!!!

Why would the US auto industry have failed if not for Bush/Obama?  Why wouldn't they have come through bankruptcy like all other major companies that do the same thing? How many bankruptcy cycles has the US airline industry gone through and yet still survive?

Is wearing a Hawaiian shirt in Hawaii the equivalent of wearing a Dokken shirt to a Dokken show?
