Suit + Shirt Advice?

My boss is hosting a first annual office dinner party soon. Based on what he told me, I should dress in a suit but I need not be too formal. I'm having trouble matching my suits with some of my not so formal shirts. To work with, I have a black or navy suit, a dark purple gingham shirt or light pink gingham shirt, a solid navy blue tie. I was hoping I could get some advice on matching these items. If not, I could always go with a solid blue or white shirt and a tie. Thanks, and let me know what you guys think (for now I'm leaning towards the navy suit with the dark purple gingham shirt and navy blue tie).

Typically, pink matches to navy well, and purple can, but it's impossible to say unless you provide pictures of these garments with some decent representation of the colors.

here is the light pink shirt and here is the color of the dark purple gingham shirt. The purple is darker than your average purple but not really a plum color.
