I received a BB gift card and a BB shoe horn, I wanted a real horn one, and Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham . Other than that just a lot of knickknacks.

 

The GF got me a book of the Hobbit (mine has fallen apart over the years and I wanted to reread it with the movie) and a framed picture of us.

Damn man, I'm pretty sure that alone would disabuse a lot of folks of the notion that your Christmas was quiet. laugh.gif  Sounds like a good one.  Enjoy Mexico, my wife and I were married in Mexico and go back every year.

Haha quiet from the standpoint of gifts to open, I suppose. Not too much wrapping paper on the ground this year.

I'm really excited about Mexico. This is the first "couple" trip I'm taking with the gf, so should be a solid time all around. It will also be a nice January reprieve from this crap weather.

I went out and bought a pair of black Renzo Ferragamo's from their Tramezza line. The are beautiful. One piece of leather makes the whole upper of the shoe. I considered lesser options, but it just did not feel right. The store manager let me borrow a beautiful brown pair so I could wrap, open on Christmas morning and show him. She was gracious to add some shoes trees to go with them as well.


When I got to my last gift on Christmas morning, I opened the Ferragamo box to show him what he got me. He absolutely loved them. He asked to see them one more time after I initially put them away. It was a very special Christmas.

great story. sounds like a neat man.

I got a JZ Richards tie, a box of cigars, and a laser pointer that clicks forward and back on PowerPoint presentations. Along with a whole bunch of books.
