unstructured means that there is no "sappa" or harder leather part that keeps the toe shaped. The partially structured toe that Viberg uses has a harder part in the toe that is called, endearingly, "Ping Pong". The partially strutured toe will have a slightly higher toebox.I'm dumb enough to not know the difference between unstructured and partial. Anyone care to explain?
I don't own any Alden, but I think that people typically get the same on Viberg 2005 as in their Barrie size.i am considering these as well....great looking boot!
torn between these and Role Club. (plus, I'm a long time Alden guy).
biggest issue would be correct sizing in Viberg. any idea on sizing in Viberg if I'm a solid Barrie 7D / Grant 7.5D?
I absolutely love these boots.
Yeah. I stupidly passed on my own GMTO, but won't do that this time round. I Was tempted to steal someone's pair... "Sorry, they shortshipped us..." Didn't, but was tempted, for real.Haven't been around these parts in awhile, but had to jump in on these.
Great looking boot.
We did this the first 2x time around, and we didn't see a drop off when we went to this model, just much less hassle - despite our putting 50% deposit, some people thought that the 1/2 amount was the full amount, which led to considerable handwrining in a few cases - and much easier to get the boots out the door. I think that the typical Viberg customer is able to buy the boots outright. I am willing to consider the deposit model though, especially with the longer lead times with Viberg these days.@LA Guy I know you got the business model figured out Fok but I would love to have 50% preorder model reintroduced. I bet it will double, if not triple the orders.
I was quoted a lead time of 4 months this time. We have had some delays in the recent past. but with just the one makeup this time, I see a loss less of an issue this time.Just curious since I haven't ordered a pair of Viberg boots in a GMTO format before, what's the average lead time?
Need to figure out sizing too, been doing some research and I think I'll likely be an 11 since I take an 11.5 in my Alden Indy boots on the Truebalance last.
Um... how much do you want to bet?@LA Guy I know you got the business model figured out Fok but I would love to have 50% preorder model reintroduced. I bet it will double, if not triple the orders.
