Casual non-sneakers

Looking to improve the middle of my shoe closet. (I have decent dress shoes, sneakers, and work boots.) What styles of shoes would be the most versatile with casual to very casual clothes (jeans/chinos/shorts; t-shirt/polo/sport shirt) in spring/summer/early fall?

It clearly comes down to tastes, but I like Viberg or Guidi derbies.  Guidi ones I think are more comfortable without socks. and they are very unstructured.  That said. ot boil down to your personal preferences.

I really like the two new Heschung derbies that No Man just got in http://www.nomanwalksalone.com/index.php/makers/makersinfo/view/id/118/

I like penny loafers.

But the real question is what styles of shoes you like with casual clothing. Just because some fellow on SF likes penny loafers, or sneakers, or Top-Siders, or something else, doesn't mean you have to like them.

I'm just exploring options. For whatever idiotic reason I hadn't even really considered derbies.
