Check suit / jacket

Thread Starter

Hello,

I have been debating about a suit to buy. Below are some of the suits l am considering.

The first two have the same pattern and difference is in the color.

The third one is a grey with blue checks.

The last one is a green / blue check jacket (no pants).

I have been debating mostly around the first one vs. the third one. I think the first one might be too much (somehow it looks like a PJ) and the pattern / colors make me somehow looking with a very small chest.

Any opinion?

Let me know

thanks

Matteo

First one is too much for me.  I like #3.

As a suit, I don't care for any of them.

I think 2 and 4 are jackets.  I say that because the thread is titled "suit/jacket"....but I see the post only mentions suits.

2/3/4 are definitely jackets. And I don't like any of them as a suit, I only sorta like #3. #4 is hard to wear well.

Might be a simple mixup in terminology.

I mean I don't know what kind of suit you're looking for since you didn't state, but if it's one for formal office wear, none of these are good choices.

Edit: and I'm not going to lie but all of these stand out in a weird/not good way.

I could see wearing number 3 as a suit if it was meant to be a sort of "fun/casual" suit (and numbers 3 or 4 as a sportcoat), but as others have said, none would be great for any sort of formal or conservative environment. I presume you were only asking about the cloth, but they all also look short in the body and, just as importantly, far too short in the sleeves. The sleeves seem to be short to the point that there would not be sufficient allowance to let them out properly and, even if you could, would result in the buttons being exceedingly far from the opening.

And you DEFINITELY didn't ask, but your shirt sleeves look very short, as well. I'll butt out now.....

Those pics looks like they're from SuitSupply. No offense but none of them look good. And I don't care for any of them as a suit. With the pattern and the cloth, just seems.....awkward.

correct they are from SS ...

no offense but a suit can be sporty too :)

SS philosophy is to be alternative

I truly believe in elegance and style but some new elements like in this case can be good.

However, I agree that in this case there is something not truly working completely and that is why I asked

thx

Yes a suit can be sporty but I feel like none of them are easy to wear well. If the grey and blue pane came with a smoother fabric maybe. No offense but SS ads are just dumb. Bad. And dumb.

I mean I'd rather just get them as a jacket because as a suit it's pretty bad. At least as a jacket you can wear different pants. The patterns are just so overwhelming wearing as a suit seems super odd.
