Crappy fit from BB MTM GF 3p suit? Update with Samuelsohn...

I ordered BB MTM GF 3-piece suit about 3 months ago hoping I will not be disappointed since I was measured twice in the beginning, including getting a test-fit shell 4 weeks ago to ensure that the final suit will fit 99% with minor adjustments.

I just came back from BB and the result is below. Can you guys believe this is the best they can come up with?

- Sleeves all of a sudden are too long - SA couldn't explain why since they were fine on the test fit shell.
- Shoulders are messed up.
- Armpit area on my right side has wrinkling.
- Lapel/Buttons are way too high.

It looks pretty bad to me - couldn't even tell this is MTM. The back is a bit of a mess. I would ask for a complete redo or a full refund.

Funny thing was, my SA promised me the in-house tailor can fix it. So what's the point of MTM if the whole suit needs to be altered after they made the suit with my measurements?

Given the prices they ask for golden fleece, it's ridiculous to get such a result.

I wouldn't take anything other than a full refund, or a complete re-do if you feel adventurous.

Would advise to get refund, but I guess they want you to come back so I guess it's nicer to re-do. That's awful lol :fu:

That's bad. Get a refund and do mtm somewhere else.

Do not let them try to fix that, it will always be atrocious. Refund or remake, but thats very disappointing. Sorry for your experience.

Burning it and then returning the ashes to the vendor seems a good start in dealing with this rag.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. My SA agreed to give me a refund without trying to persuade me for a redo. He said he will investigate the issue but I said he can do whatever he wants, I just want my money back and leave it at that since I've already wasted enough time with this.

Went to Harry Rosen today and showed them these photos. They were entertained. Put my deposit down for a Samuelsohn MTM 3p suit.

how is the fit of the pants and vest?
they can recut the jacket, assuming there is fabric

you have sway posture.
you hold your arms to the back,

that was completely missed by the person measuring you.

you also have very sloping shoulders.
the jacket is unfixable.

Vest was loose but the unhemmed pants fit fine.

I was measured twice, once by the in-house tailor and second time they sent a MTM specialist from the downtown RBC store. They even took photos for reference.

Posture, arms, sloping shoulders etc were noted. They were discussed in detail with both tailors and not missed.

Though I imagine that's an exception.

That's nowhere near as bad as the photos I posted. To be fair, it could be the fault of the person who is doing the measuring that got the wrong measurements as well.

no chance of saving it. Happy you got a refund. I have a Samuehlsson piece from HR. They did a pretty nice job, though they're not the best option for slimmer builds.
